So Long, G+. Hello Again Blogger

I've been a bad, bad blogger.

When Google+ launched, it was a dazzling platform that consumed my attention. It was easy to create multiple posts and generate some fascinating dialog. And the engagement! One of my communities amassed over 17,000 followers in just a few months. G+ made it easy to post links, images and text spontaneously. It was a heady, intoxicating environment.

But the end is near. G+ sunsets April 30 next year. With its demise the most convenient platform ever goes dark. But that's not all that bad a thing. It's going to make me revive this blog, force me to return to longer pieces that I'll have to work at. I won't be making short, reactive posts so much. I'll be forced to read more, think more, and write more. That's going to hurt at first. Those are some muscles I haven't used much in the past  few years. But it's time to get serious again.

Stand by.
